Collection: Akoya

Akoya pearls, often simply referred to as Akoya, are a type of saltwater pearl renowned for their high luster and often delicate pinkish hue. They are cultivated primarily in Japan, specifically in the waters off the coast of Ago Bay in Mie Prefecture, among other locations. The pearls are produced by the Pinctada fucata oyster, also known as the Akoya oyster, which is relatively small compared to other pearl-producing oysters. As a result, Akoya pearls tend to range in size from about 2mm to 11mm, with the average size being around 7mm to 7.5mm. Their exceptional luster, combined with their classic white and cream colors, often with rose overtones, make Akoya pearls a popular choice for fine jewelry
